These sixteen foundational truths are intended as a basis of fellowship among King's Cathedral & Chapels and its extensions. The page is designed in layers: a clear summary for every visitor, with the fuller shared statement and Scripture references available by expanding each entry.
01The Scriptures are inspiredThe Old and New Testaments are inspired by God and are the authoritative rule of faith and conduct.
The Scriptures, Old and New Testaments, are verbally inspired of God and are the revelation of God to humanity, the infallible, authoritative rule of faith and conduct.

02The one true GodThere is one true God who reveals Himself as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—the Creator and Redeemer.
The one true God has revealed Himself as the eternally self-existent I AM, the Creator of heaven and earth and the Redeemer of humanity. He has further revealed Himself through relationship and association as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

03The deity of Jesus ChristJesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, fully revealed through His birth, life, miracles, death, resurrection, and exaltation.
The Lord Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. The Scriptures declare His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, substitutionary work on the cross, bodily resurrection from the dead, and exaltation to the right hand of God.

04The fall of humanityHumanity was created good but fell through voluntary disobedience, resulting in physical and spiritual death.
Humanity was created good and upright in the image and likeness of God. Through voluntary transgression, humanity fell and thereby experienced not only physical death, but spiritual death, which is separation from God.

05The salvation of humanityOur only hope of redemption is through Jesus Christ. Salvation is received through repentance and faith by grace.
Humanity's only hope of redemption is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Salvation is received through repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. By grace through faith, a person is justified and becomes an heir of God according to the hope of eternal life. The inward evidence is the direct witness of the Spirit, and the outward evidence is a life of righteousness and true holiness.

06The ordinances of the churchBelievers practice baptism by immersion and Holy Communion as commanded and described in Scripture.
Baptism in water by immersion is commanded for all who repent and believe on Christ as Savior and Lord. It declares that a believer has died with Christ and has been raised with Him to walk in newness of life. Holy Communion, consisting of bread and the fruit of the vine, expresses our sharing in the divine nature of Christ, memorializes His suffering and death, and is observed until He comes.

07The baptism in the Holy SpiritBelievers are invited to receive the promise of the Father and the empowering presence of the Holy Spirit for life and service.
All believers are entitled to and should earnestly seek the promise of the Father: the baptism in the Holy Spirit and fire. This experience brings an overflowing fullness of the Spirit, deeper reverence for God, consecration and dedication to His work, active love for Christ and His Word, and power for life and service through spiritual gifts.

08The initial evidence of the Spirit's baptismThe baptism in the Holy Spirit is accompanied by the biblical sign of speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance.
The baptism of believers in the Holy Spirit is witnessed by the initial physical sign of speaking with other tongues as the Spirit of God gives utterance. Speaking in tongues in this instance is related in essence to the gift of tongues, while differing in purpose and use.

09SanctificationSanctification is a life of separation from evil and dedication to God through our union with Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit.
Sanctification is an act of separation from what is evil and dedication to God. It is realized in the believer by recognizing their identification with Christ in His death and resurrection, reckoning daily upon that union by faith, and offering every faculty continually under the dominion of the Holy Spirit. Holiness includes turning from evil and honoring all human life as sacred and created by God in His image.

10The churchThe church is the Body of Christ and the dwelling place of God through the Spirit. Every believer is an integral part of it.
The Church is the Body of Christ and the habitation of God through the Spirit, with divine appointments for the fulfillment of the Great Commission. Every believer, born of the Spirit, is an integral part of the general assembly and Church of the Firstborn, whose names are written in heaven.

11The ministryChrist provides a called and biblically ordained ministry for evangelizing the world and building up the Body of Christ.
A divinely called and scripturally ordained ministry has been provided by our Lord for the twofold purpose of evangelizing the world and edifying the Body of Christ.

12Divine healingDivine healing is part of the Gospel and is a privilege available to believers through the work of Christ.
Divine healing is an integral part of the Gospel. Deliverance from sickness is provided for in the atonement and is the privilege of all believers.

13The blessed hopeThe resurrection and gathering of believers at the coming of the Lord is the blessed hope of the church.
The resurrection of those who have fallen asleep in Christ and their translation together with those who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord is the imminent and blessed hope of the Church.

14The millennial reign of ChristChrist will return and reign in righteousness, bringing the promised restoration and peace described in Scripture.
The second coming of Christ includes the rapture of the saints and Christ's millennial reign on the earth. This reign will include the promised salvation of Israel and the establishment of universal peace.

15The final judgmentThere will be a final judgment of the wicked dead, followed by everlasting punishment for those not found in the Book of Life.
There will be a final judgment in which the wicked dead will be raised and judged according to their works. Whoever is not found written in the Book of Life, together with the devil and his angels, will be consigned to everlasting punishment in the lake of fire, which is the second death.

16The new heaven and new earthAccording to God's promise, we look forward to a new heaven and a new earth where righteousness dwells.
According to God's promise, we look for a new heaven and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.
